Now:
In April 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to start an internship at The Alternative Bank as a Product Manager. Within six months, I was "promoted" from the Product Officer for Account Acquisitions to the Product Manager of Virtual Accounts. This could only have been possible because of my amiable supervisor and the quality of work I have put in.
This is a huge milestone for me and I want to maintain this momentum, so I am always upskilling to stay up to date with new market trends and shifts. Doing this will not only increase my capacity to build more scalable products that achieve product-market fit but also strengthen my position for further growth.
It was this mindset that led me to HNG Tech in July, where I participated with a team of professionals, including other product managers, designers, developers (frontend, backend, and mobile), and video marketers) to build Telex App, which is a database monitoring platform for developers.
Throughout the apprenticeship, I learned how to create code-ready boilerplates and manage GitHub tickets. Additionally, I have learned the importance of efficient communication and the impact of well-structured meetings, so I always strive to keep all meetings brief and informative to give the development team ample time to focus on their tasks.
Future Plans:
Looking ahead, I plan to learn more about user research and data analysis to develop stronger product intuition. I also believe effective communication is important for success in product management, so I'll continue honing my communication skills so I can articulate my product vision clearly, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and keep stakeholders informed.
I am committed to continuous learning and improvement, and eager to digest the resources and leverage all the opportunities available to me.
